Ion-photoelectron entanglement in photoionization with chirped laser pulses

Abstract The investigation of coherent dynamics induced by photoionization atoms or molecules extreme ultra-violet (XUV) attosecond laser pulses requires careful consideration the degree ion + photoelectron entanglement that results from process. Here, we consider H 2 vibrational neutral a chirped pulse. We show chirping pulse leads to and transition pure mixed state. This is characterized evaluating purity, which close unity for transform-limited decreases value determined number states populated in process increasing values chirp parameter. In calculations, probed calculating time-delayed dissociation cation short (UV) Independent magnitude chirp, can be recovered recording XUV-UV delay-dependent kinetic energy release coincidence with accompanying photoelectron.
